General Law: Legal Rigor & Personalized Support

Civil and Commercial Law for Businesses and Individuals

The LOONIS QUÉLEN Law Office acts with rigour and precision in resolving everyday disputes: unpaid debts, civil litigation, and labour law.

Maître Guillaume Loonis Quélen, member of the Paris Bar, also registered on the EU/EFTA List of the Geneva Bar under his original professional title, provides tailored support to individuals, companies, and employees in both France and Switzerland, particularly before civil courts, labour tribunals, and relevant institutions.

The Office operates in the following areas:

  • Legal Activities:
    • Consultation;
    • Drafting of legal documents.
  • Litigation Activities:
    • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR);
    • Court Representation.

Debt Recovery

Efficient management of civil and commercial debts: formal notice, payment injunction, seizures, judicial or amicable strategies tailored to each client’s situation. The support aims to maximize recovery, including in cross-border contexts, taking into account the deadlines and procedural constraints specific to each jurisdiction.

Labor Law

Support in employment law for employers and employees: contract negotiation, dismissal management, and individual or collective disputes. This work is grounded in extensive experience within international organisations such as the ILO, allowing for a thorough approach to employment matters, including in international or institutional contexts.

Civil & Commercial

Comprehensive support in a wide range of civil and commercial matters, including contractual disputes, liability claims, non-performance, latent defects, and conflicts between partners or shareholders. The Office provides thorough and tailored case management, offering legal advice, negotiated settlements, or representation in complex litigation proceedings.

Do You Reside in Switzerland?

Managing a dispute in France from Geneva, Lausanne, or Zurich often means having no local point of contact, facing costly travel, and struggling to follow proceedings from abroad.

As a member of the Paris Bar and registered on the EU/EFTA List of the Geneva Bar, the Office is available for consultations in Switzerland and handles representation directly before French courts — without any need to instruct a second lawyer in France.

Switzerland is a party to the Lugano Convention of 30 October 2007, which means that a person domiciled in Geneva, Lausanne, or Zurich may bring or face proceedings before French courts under rules closely aligned with the Brussels I bis Regulation.

Each cross-border Franco-Swiss matter requires prior analysis: identifying the competent jurisdiction (France or Switzerland), determining the applicable law (French law, Swiss law, or otherwise) through the Rome I and Rome II Regulations, and taking into account the mandatory provisions that the court must apply of its own motion.

Unpaid debt owed by a French debtor, property dispute concerning real estate located in France (exclusive jurisdiction of French courts), dispute with a French employer, succession matter, or conflict between shareholders: the Office analyses the applicable conflict-of-laws rules and implements the appropriate procedures — payment injunctions, interim measures, substantive proceedings, or recognition and enforcement of a Swiss judgment in France — from Geneva, in French and in English.
